Wi-Fi dead zones generally result from a combination of five factors.
Distance
Wi-Fi performance decreases as devices move farther from the router. The effect becomes more noticeable when the signal must also travel through several walls or floors.

Walls and Other Obstacles
Walls, floors, furniture, appliances, and building materials can weaken or reflect wireless signals.
Two homes with the same floor area may therefore have very different coverage.

Poor Router Placement
A router placed inside a cabinet, on the floor, behind a television, or at one end of the home may not distribute Wi-Fi effectively.
Moving it to a more central and open position may improve a mild coverage problem.
Wireless Interference
Nearby Wi-Fi networks and some household electronics can reduce wireless efficiency.
Interference may cause buffering, inconsistent speed, higher latency, or unstable connections, even when the device still shows some signal.
Router Coverage Limitations
Not all routers maintain the same performance at medium and longer distances.
A basic or older router may work well nearby but struggle to provide usable Wi-Fi across several rooms, floors, or outdoor areas.
Upgrading your internet plan may not fix this problem. Your internet plan determines how much bandwidth enters the home, while the router determines how effectively that connection reaches your devices over Wi-Fi.
