Q1: Which setup should I choose if I’m not sure? 

A1: If you want V2700 to be your main home Wi-Fi, use Router Mode, which is also the default Internet mode after initial setup. If you want to place V2700 in another location and an Ethernet connection is available there, use Bridge Mode. If Ethernet is not available, use AP+Client Mode for a wireless connection. 

Q2: Should I use the same Wi-Fi name (SSID) for 2.4GHz and 5GHz? 

A2: We recommend using separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Use 2.4 GHz for IoT and smart-home devices, and 5GHz for phones, computers, and other high-performance devices. This makes it easier to control which band each device uses. 

If you prefer to use one SSID for both bands, go to Basic → Main Wi-Fi Management and enable Dual-Band Integration. Also make sure Band Steering is enabled under Advanced Wi-Fi, allowing V2700 to prioritize 5GHz and steer compatible devices to 2.4GHz when the 5GHz signal becomes too weak. 

Q3: Do I need to change any Advanced Settings? 

A3: No. Most users do not need to change Advanced Settings. Use them only when you have a specific networking or application requirement. 

Q4: Can I keep my existing router or mesh system and use V2700 at the same time? 

A4: Yes. V2700 can be added to an existing home network using a wired or wireless connection. For easier troubleshooting, we recommend using different SSIDs when multiple Wi-Fi systems remain active. 

Q5: Why does one device get better Wi-Fi performance than another? 

A5: Wi-Fi performance also depends on the client device. Different phones, laptops, and smart-home devices may support different Wi-Fi standards, bands, channel widths, and antenna capabilities. 

Q6: Where is the best place to put V2700? 

A6: Place V2700 in an open, elevated location when possible, away from large metal objects and enclosed cabinets. For AP+Client Mode, make sure V2700 can still receive a stable signal from your existing Wi-Fi. For Router Mode, if your ISP Gateway Wi-Fi remains enabled, we recommend keeping V2700 at least 50 cm (20 in) away from the ISP Gateway to reduce unnecessary wireless interference.  

Q7: What happens if I choose the wrong Internet mode? 

A7: You can change it at any time. Log in to 192.168.10.1 using your management password, then go to Basic → Internet and select the correct mode. 

If you have trouble accessing the management page, connect your computer directly to V2700 with an Ethernet cable and try again.

Alternatively, press and hold the Reset button on the back of V2700 to reset the device. After restarting, V2700 will return to the initial setup process with Router Mode as the default. 

Q8: Why is my Wi-Fi signal strong, but my Internet speed is still slow? 

A8: A strong Wi-Fi signal does not always mean faster Internet speed. Performance can also depend on your Internet service, client device, Wi-Fi band, network traffic, and whether V2700 is using a wired or wireless upstream connection. 

For the best performance, connect compatible phones and computers to 5 GHz whenever possible.
